First Open doors event held at the Linstow Art Award art studio in the SPORTA 2 quarter

The first Open doors event was recently held at the Linstow Art Award art studio in the SPORTA 2 quarter. During the event, tenants and partners of the SPORTA 2 community had the opportunity to visit the newly opened art studio and meet the inaugural Linstow Art Award winners — Anna Malicka, Tīna Alise Drupa, and Katrīna Biksone.

The aim of the event was to foster synergy between the creative industries and other sectors within the SPORTA 2 community, highlighting the potential of contemporary art in urban development and in enhancing the quality of public space. It served as a platform for encouraging new collaborations between artists, entrepreneurs, and architects.

“It’s great to see that the first open doors event at the Linstow Art Award art studio brought together engaged professionals from various fields. These kinds of encounters foster meaningful dialogue and create a platform for emerging artists to explore potential collaborations — such as this one with ALPS landscape design architects — which might grow into impactful joint projects in public space and urban development,” says Evija Majevska, Commercial Director at Linstow Baltic.

“We, ALPS Landscape Architecture Studio, were delighted to meet our new neighbours who have settled on the other side of our office’s stone wall. As we got to know the young artists better, we realized that this wall does not separate us – it connects us. And it’s not just the wall. Their fresh energy, enthusiasm and determination to follow their dreams inspired in us a genuine wish to engage and collaborate. The key words shared during our meeting intertwined with the counterpoints of our landscape workshop, sparking hopes for future cooperation. Public space and a sense of place, urban cracks as a refuge for city bats, the magic meadow’s cover, tongue twisters and lace – the art of landscape and the landscape of art. We are happy about this encounter and look forward to welcoming them to our workshop,” said Agnese Reķe, Head of ALPS Landscape Architecture Studio.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to the SPORTA 2 community, and our partners from ALPS Landscape Architecture Studio — for your active participation, exchange of ideas, and open discussions. Events like these strengthen the strategic positioning of the SPORTA 2 quarter as a space where business, culture, and sustainable urban living come together.
