During its visit to Riga, the international jury of the Linstow Art Award visited the Linstow Art Award art studio at the SPORTA 2 quarter, where they met with the 2025 laureates – Anna Malicka, Katrīna Biksone, and Tīna Alise Drupa. During the meeting, the jury members reviewed the artists’ achievements over the past year since taking up residence in the Linstow Art Award art studio spaces, explored the works created during this period, and discussed their future professional ambitions and creative development plans.
As part of the visit, a mentoring session was held, led by Inga Lāce, Jury chair leader of the Linstow Art Award, and Joanna Nordin, jury member and Artistic Director and Curator of Bonniers Konsthall, Sweden. The discussions focused on artists’ professional development, opportunities for international collaboration, exhibition practices, and the evolution of the creative process.
The Linstow Art Award provides both financial and practical support to emerging artists, creating a professional environment for growth, knowledge exchange, and dialogue with internationally recognized experts. Mentoring sessions have become an important part of the award, offering young artists valuable insights and opportunities to establish professional connections both in Latvia and internationally.
For the second consecutive year, the international jury of the Linstow Art Award has gathered in Riga not only to select the new laureates, but also to follow the progress of previous winners and support the professional development of the next generation of artists.
The Linstow Art Award is a joint initiative of Linstow Baltic and the Art Academy of Latvia. The mission of the Linstow Art Award is to give long-term support to young Latvian artists, ensuring a stronger art community and a lasting presence of art in the city.
We would like to thank the international jury and the 2025 Linstow Art Award laureates for the open discussions, inspiring ideas, and valuable mentoring session, demonstrating that professional guidance and knowledge-sharing are essential investments in the development of the next generation of artists.
